ADF’s Movies By Movers Call for Submissions
ADF’s Movies By Movers celebrates it’s new identity for the 2016 festival! Movies By Movers and the International Screendance Festival at the American Dance Festival have merged! Cara Hagan has taken on the role of Director and will direct and curate screenings for the American Dance Festival July 6th-9th and for the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts on the campus of Appalachian State University September 8th-10th.
Submissions open January 8th and close April 18th.
ADF’s Movies By Movers seekes films by student, energing and professional artists which celebrate the conversation between the moving body and the camera. All genres are welcome – experimental, documentary, narrative, animation – as long as movement is a strong component. We invite site-specific, media-specific work which demonstrates thoughtful collaboration between movement and film to apply. In other words, we are not looking for archival footage, but work which highlights experimentation, visual intimacy and attention to detail.
Submissions are processed through Filmfreeway, an online film submission platform. It’s easy and user friendly! For full information and to access filmfreeway, go to www.adfmoviesbymovers.org.
