Maya Brinner offers a one hour open class for adult modern dancers of all ages and abilities. The class will be a mixture of release technique, work on physical awareness, musicality and energetic movement.
Born in Berkeley, Maya moved to Israel at age 5, and has lived in Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv. A graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in 1998 and the Sam Spiegel Film School in 2009, Maya began her professional dance career in 2000, working with noted choreographer Noa Dar. She has since created her own work and performed worldwide, twice receiving Israeli’s Ministry of Science and Culture Prize for Exceptional Performance. She has created pieces for “Intimadance Festival,” “Curtain-up Festival “ and the “Israel Festival” in Jerusalem. She also creates short films, video art, video dances and music videos. Maya’s work integrates dance with elements from theatre and film.
