The work of two Los Angeles-based iconoclasts, choreographer Heidi Duckler and architect Thom Mayne will be on full display in Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre’s Space Opera, set at Mayne’s Morphosis in Culver City.
Duckler’s newest piece explores the intersection of dance and architecture. Joined by dancers and live musicians, Duckler will bring the audience on both a literal and figurative journey through space and place. The audience will be offered multiple perspectives, as it moves through the parking lot, into the building’s open workspace and finally out into the garden courtyard. Space Opera is a mobile performance.
Space Opera is the second Los Angeles performance in Duckler’s 30th season, a milestone Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre will commemorate with an ambitious roster of performances and events throughout 2015.
The March 22 performances are made possible in part by a Culver City Performing Arts Grant with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment.
