Experience the beauty and power of dance right up close when Benita Bike’s DanceArt performs at the Lake View Terrace Library! This interactive dance performance takes place on Saturday, December 6, 2pm at the Lake View Terrace Library, 12002 Osborne Street, Lake View Terrace, right next door to the Los Angeles Discovery Cube. This program is suitable for adults, children, and seniors, with a focus on families sharing art together. This is a FREE performance, supported in part by a grant from the Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles.

Libraries are great places to share dance and Benita Bike’s DanceArt has a long history of reaching out through dance. DanceArt knows how to introduce the soul of dance to audiences! DanceArt’s work stands at the crossroads of past and present, blending the music and sensibilities of the past with evocative contemporary movement.

This Lake View Terrace performance will feature dances “Renaissance 5,” “Southern Memories” and “For Rose.“ “Renaissance 5” is a dance-y quintet infused with energy and innocence and set to bawdy 16th century drinking music. “Southern Memories” is a poignant and energetic trio taking its cue from traditional tunes of the Southern United States. “For Rose” is a brand new duet dedicated to the choreographer’s mother who passed away recently.
