This Cal State Long Beach performance will feature new dances “For Rose” and “On Beat 3” (premiere). “For Rose,” a duet for dancers Rachele Donofrio and Dominique Lyons, is about the passing of Benita’s mother Rose. Stark and poignant, this dance touches on complicated feelings of love, discordance, and death. “On Beat 3,” a trio for dancers Linnea Snyderman, Trudy Niess-Stevens, and Clare Kiklowicz uses driving percussive rhythms and colorful off-balance movements to explore a world of ordered chaos. The program also includes dances from repertory.
